Training 3 Day Workshops
Change Management
Effective Change Management is delivered as part of good Project Management and Solution Design. It starts from the moment a problem is identified and is an integral part of the entire Change Lifecycle.
Too often Change Management is left too late in the Change Lifecycle and the necessary approach, time, cost and information is not available for the Change Manager to deliver a successful outcome.
This workshop focuses on helping the key roles of Project Management, Business Analysis, Stakeholders and Change Managers understand what they need to do to ensure their change ultimately embeds. Following the Change Lifecycle from start to end it includes:
- Stakeholder Management is key to delivering any Project. A Stakeholder is only a Stakeholder if they can fulfil their obligations to a Programme or Project.
- A Programme or Project is doomed to fail if it is not initiated correctly. Learn how to get the right information to develop the initial Scope and avoid common early errors by making the right recommendations in a way that will be heard.
- Once a Project is approved to proceed the team need to develop the Detailed Project Scope that will outline the Conceptual Design, Plans, Requirements and Risks. Learn how to integrate effectively with related projects, avoid design conflict, no double dip on benefits and identify the real risks.
- Good Solution Design is obviously key to success but we need to work with and often sceptical and/or inexperienced business and specialists to develop the right design. Learn how to take feedback, handle resistance and gain business buy.
- Impact Analysis and assessing Change Readiness ensures the business is managed so it is ready for the changes prior to implementation. Change Management tactics are always unique to the Project and the business. Learn how to select the right tactics to smooth the Change transition.
- Gaining business buy in and getting to business to commit to make the change succeed. If the business ‘own’ the Change they will make the Change work. Learn how to shift entrenched thinking, remove barriers to change and deal with individual resistance.
- Ultimately every Change has a ‘go live’ moment when the business will cutover from one way of working to the new way of working. Failing to manage this critical moment whether it is an hour, a day or even a month can undo the most effective solution.
- Post any Change is the moment of truth when the team must assess whether the Change was successful. This may be weeks or months after the ‘go live’ but inevitably an assessment is made and often there are corrections to be done to gain more from the Change.
This full Change Lifecycle view guides any Programme, Project and Change specialist through the lifecycle in just 3 days. The focus is on what really happens as we move through a Change, how people react and the typical problems and behaviours any Project team must manage.
This workshop is beneficial for any person working on a Project as it provides the full lifecycle in real life terms they will be dealing with in their day-to-day work.

- Practical explanation of Business Architecture that can be easily applied to any business so analysts work with a comprehensive and useable framework for design.
- Problem Analysis techniques that help analysts work through symptoms, causes, issues and core issues which means they will solve the right problem.
- Options Analysis that works through all the options for solving a problem and helps analysts identify why one option is better than another.
- Communication for comprehension to ensure all Stakeholders and the business understand the problem, their options and why one option may be better than another.
- Cost Benefit Analysis that trains the analyst in the different levels of detail throughout the Change Lifecycle and the basis of developing robust and reasonable Costs and Benefits that can be justified and explained.
- Ongoing Detailed Solution Design based on the Option selected while maintaining the Costs and Benefits.
- Understanding and working with the different areas of the Organisation. What to expect and how to get the best from the business experts.
- Practical approach to documenting and sharing the Solution Design and how to derive the Systems, Organisation and People changes.
At the end of this workshop Delegates will gain a structured approach to Business Analysis that can be applied immediately. The workshop materials provide various tables and structures that Delegates can refer to and use to explain to others back in their organisations.
